Once you have worked through with us which shower will work in your space, we will organise to have the shower delivered to site. If you already have the shower onsite your plumber will connect the waste/drainage for the shower tray, fit the piping for the shower rose and mixer on the wall and then your builder fixes the gib to the wall.

IMPORTANT: Do not gib stop, prime or coat the gib where the shower is going as it can stop the bonding of the shower to the wall.

At this stage, you or your plumber or builder calls us on 0800 466 53257 and books us to come and begin the installation of your shower. Usually with four or five days’ notice before you need us on site. If you have handy the name or brand of the shower you have purchased our team will be able to easily quote you a price over the phone.

Once one of our team is on site the installation time varies from shower to shower as the more technical showers will take longer to install and fit correctly. Tiled showers will require more than one visit to site as the wall channels needs to be fixed and left to dry for 24 hours before the glass goes in.

With acrylic lined showers, the gib where the shower enclosure is going onto needs to be just gib, if there is something in the way it can stop the bonding of the shower to the wall:

– Do not Gib stop

– Do not Paint

– Do not Primer coat

A lot of shower companies won’t warrant their product if it is installed incorrectly. GSI takes pride in making sure we are up to date with all current shower installation practices to ensure your shower is installed correctly. We make sure we are certified with all the major brands on the market and give feedback to manufacturers on the shower product we are installing. A copy of our certificates is available on request.

The standard answer to this is 24hours. We need the silicone and glues to dry firm and hard before the shower is used or another trade working over the top of our work. If it is used while to silicone or glue is drying you can run the risk of damaging the installation.
